Who we are
Solarise Quotes is operated by Ollie Hawkins in New Zealand. Solarise Quotes helps homeowners explore whether residential solar could suit their property, and connects suitable enquiries with selected local solar installers. We are not an installer ourselves.
What we collect
When you submit an enquiry through our solar assessment form, we collect the information you provide, which may include your name, phone number, email address, property address, property and roof details, approximate electricity usage, and photographs (such as your switchboard, meter board, and roof).
Our website is hosted on Cloudflare, which — like most web hosting — automatically logs standard technical information for any visitor, such as IP address and browser type, as part of running the site securely.
Why we collect it
We use this information to assess and qualify your enquiry, contact you if we need to confirm details, select suitable installers, and manage the referral. Providing this information is voluntary, but without the relevant details we may not be able to properly assess your enquiry or refer it to an installer.
Who we share it with
If your enquiry looks suitable, we may share your details — including photographs — with up to three selected local solar installers so they can contact you about your options, or in some cases with one installer exclusively. Submitting an enquiry does not guarantee that it will be shared with an installer, that an installer will contact you, or that you'll receive a quote.
We also use service providers to operate our business, including:
- Tally — collects and stores your form submission and uploaded photographs.
- Google — your submitted answers are held in a Google Sheet as part of how new enquiries are brought into our system.
- Cloudflare — hosts this website.
- Zoho — our email provider, used to send your enquiry details to selected installers and to communicate with installers generally.
- Meta — for advertising measurement, where tracking is used and permitted (see below).
Outside of these providers, your information is kept in our own systems and is not sold to anyone. Some of these providers may store or process information outside New Zealand — for example, our email provider's servers are located in Australia, and some others operate internationally (including in the United States).
Advertising and tracking
Our advertising may use tracking technologies, including the Meta Pixel and Meta's Conversions API, to help us understand when a genuine enquiry results from an advertisement. Where implemented, this only records that an eligible enquiry was completed — not the details of what you submitted (such as your address, usage, or photographs). Where a tracking consent choice is presented to you, we intend to honour it, and declining tracking will not prevent you from submitting an enquiry.
Property photographs
Photographs you provide are collected to help assess your enquiry and may be shared with selected installers as part of your enquiry. They are not published or made publicly accessible.
Security
We take reasonable steps to protect the information we hold, including limiting access to those who need it to operate the business. No online system can be guaranteed completely secure.
How long we keep it
We keep enquiry information for as long as reasonably necessary for the purposes described in this policy, or as required by law. We don't currently have a fixed automatic deletion schedule. If you would like your information deleted sooner, contact us and we will delete it where reasonably possible, subject to any legal or legitimate record-keeping requirements.
Access, correction and deletion
You can ask for access to, correction of, or deletion of the information we hold about you by emailing quotes@solarisequotes.co.nz.
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time. The current version will always be available on this page.
